Licenses expire on April 1st of the year of issue. The renewal application must be post-marked by April 1st to be considered without a late fee.  When the renewal application is approved, the license is renewed for one (1) calendar year. The renewed licensee will will receive new pocket ID cards and a receipt for the renewal fee.

Please note all licenses must be renewed by  April 1 of each year in order to continue to practice in the state. If your license is not renewed by April 1, YOU MAY NOT PRACTICE IN WYOMING.

Please be aware the Board will NOT accept cash.

The Wyoming Board of Examiners in Optometry is completing a new software build which will permit licenses to be renewed online this year. The renewal system is not yet ready for usage, but we anticipate it to ready before the end of February.

We are fully aware you have obligations to document your renewal to insurance providers, and will not permit this transition to affect your compliance.

If the system doesn't look to be appropriately functional by the end of February, we will mail and email everyone paper forms for processing.

Thank you for your patience!
The Wyoming Board of Examiners in Optometry is staffed through the Professional Licensing Boards Office, a division of A&I.
