Wyoming Board of Examiners in Optometry

Creation of the Board

The Wyoming Legislature created the Board of Examiners in Optometry in 1939 to protect the welfare of the public by regulating the practice of optometry.

Mission Statement

The ultimate responsibility of the Board is to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Wyoming by ensuring that those individuals licensed to provide optometric services in the state are duly qualified.

Board Composition

The Board is legislatively empowered to provide for the licensure and regulations of optometrists practicing in Wyoming. The board consists of five (5) members appointed by the governor for a term of three (3) years.
